Davis wins Bibb County Sheriff’s race, several races go to run-off

The results of the 2016 election in Bibb County have finished coming in.

David Davis won the Democratic primary election for Sheriff, avoiding a runoff in that race, and with no Republican challenger, he will be re-elected.

Incumbent Mayor Robert Reichert won the election to serve another term as Macon-Bibb mayor, and former mayor C. Jack Ellis will not be returning to public office in Bibb County, as S. Wade McCord won the election for Tax Commissioner.

Three Bibb County elections will be going to a runoff.  The race for Macon-Bibb County Commission District 6 was too close to call and will go to a runoff between Joe Allen and Ed Defore.

Two different Bibb County School Board seats will go to a runoff as well. District 6 was too close to call between Bob Easter and Jason Downey, and District 5 was too close to call between James Timley and Sundra Woodford.
