Bibb County deputy jailed, accused of fighting wife

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Bibb County deputy has been arrested for allegedly fighting his wife, who is also a Bibb County sheriff’s deputy.

46-year-old David Wayne Whigham is charged with Battery (Family Violence.) He is also suspended from duty at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office pending an internal investigation, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The incident happened Friday around 8:30 p.m. at the couple’s home.

“The argument led to a physical altercation with his wife,” the release said. “Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the residence.”

The deputy is being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Bond has not been set.
