UPDATE: Teen arrested, accused of shooting at Bibb County deputy
A teenager is in custody in connection with the deputy-involved shooting in Macon on Monday.

UPDATE (1/24) – A teenager is in custody in connection with the deputy-involved shooting in Macon on Monday.
17-year-old Jordan Jamal Rozier of Macon was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center Wednesday afternoon after being released from Atrium Navicent Health.
Rozier faces a charge of felony aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer when engaged on official duty.
He currently does not have a bond.
The shooting is still being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Bibb County Sheriff’s Internal Affairs Office.

ORIGINAL STORY (1/22):
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Bibb County deputies shot a person Monday morning during a traffic stop in Macon. It happened just after 11 a.m. in the 800 block of West Grenada Terrace, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office says a stolen vehicle was identified by a Flock camera, which prompted a Bibb County deputy to make a traffic stop. People in the vehicle got out, and one of them fired at deputies. Deputies shot back and struck the person. Then, they say they applied a tourniquet before paramedics arrived. The person who was shot was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. No one else was injured, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says it’s called the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to investigate the shooting. Its own Internal Affairs Office will also conduct an internal investigation.
