Bibb County deputies searching for third suspect after shooting inside Mercer Drive store
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a third suspect connected to a shooting and armed robbery at a Mercer University Drive convenience store.

BIBB COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Investigators say the incident happened a little after 11 a.m. on February 14 at the Sprint Foods located at 3198 Mercer University Drive.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to reports of shots fired inside the store. During the investigation, authorities determined that two suspects attempted to steal a firearm from an 18-year-old customer inside the business. A struggle broke out, and during that altercation, the teen was shot.
Investigators say the suspects ran from the store with the victim’s firearm. The victim was taken to a local hospital by personal vehicle and was later released the same day, according to medical staff.
On February 19, multiple law enforcement units including the Criminal Investigation Division’s Violent Crimes Unit, Gang Unit, Special Investigations Unit, and the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force executed a search warrant at a home on Swan Drive.
Authorities arrested 33-year-old Joshua Jwen Hill and 22-year-old Cecret Brejaneah Bowens. Both were taken to the Criminal Investigation Division before being transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
Bowens is charged with misdemeanor willful obstruction of law enforcement officers and felony tampering with evidence. She has since been released on bond.
Hill faces charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, felony probation violation, and parole violation. His bond was denied.
Investigators say they are still working to identify a third suspect connected to the case. The individual is featured in a B.O.L.O. alert released by the sheriff’s office.
