Bibb County deputies respond to reported bomb threat at Stratford Academy

UPDATE: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says all students and faculty are “accounted for and unharmed” after a report of a bomb threat Tuesday afternoon.

According to an email response to a 41NBC inquiry, a call came in to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center at 3:08 p.m. reporting a bomb at Stratford Academy.

“A witness stated that someone with a strange voice said a bomb was inside the school before disconnecting the line,” a sheriff’s office spokesperson wrote.

Deputies responded to the scene, and all buildings were evacuated at 3:27 p.m.

Deputies say they’re on scene performing a sweep of all buildings to ensure the area is safe. Macon-Bibb County Fire Department and EMTs are also on standby.
