Bibb County deputies respond to bomb threat at Mercer University

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Deputies and fire fighters have responded to a bomb threat at Mercer University’s Macon campus.

According to Mercer University Director of Media Relations Jennifer Fairfield-Williams, bomb threat was called in against the Emily Parker Myers Admissions and Welcome Center. Williams says the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and Macon-Bibb Fire Department have determined the threat was false.

Williams adds that Mercer University has not yet given the all clear, as campus police are still performing a sweep of the campus.
