Bibb County Deputies investigating deadly shooting in East Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Authorities have identified the victim in Friday’s deadly shooting as 24-year-old Jonathan Risby.

Bibb County Sheriff Deputies say Risby and 39-year-old Tanvonya Smith were shot near Fairview Drive.

However, deputies say they were found outside a home on Applewood Street. That’s close to the Davis Homes Public Housing complex.

Deputies say Risby was shot multiple times and the woman was shot at least once in the foot.

They both were taken to Medical Center, Navicent Health where Risby died.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says Risby would have celebrated a birthday next week.

Deputies say a man who was wearing all black at the time may be responsible for the shooting.

No word on the relationship of the victims.
