Bibb County Delegation Discusses Non-Partisan Elections, Healthcare, Budget
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – In less then two months, Georgia lawmakers will return to the gold dome, and Bibb County’s representatives say this year they’ve got a lot on their mind.
In front of a crowd of about 100, the 7 of the 8 members of the Bibb County Delegation answered questions and remarked on the upcoming legislative session.
“It’s a challenging time,” says Senator Cecil Staton,”there is one difference between Washington and our state… a balanced budget is written into our constitution.”
That’s one goal, the veteran senator has on his agenda for January. Another is getting rid of the R’s and D’s. Staton along with State Representative Allen Peake are looking to tweak the consolidation bill, and seek non-partisan elections.
