Bibb County Commissioner Allen Wants No-Kill Animal Shelter

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Commissioner Joe Allen wants a promise of a no-kill shelter when the county takes control of animal control on July 1st.

The county’s allotted $3 million in SPLOST funds for a new shelter. Commissioner Allen believes now is the time to work out the details surrounding the shelter including the treatment of the animals.

At Tuesday night’s commission meeting, Allen requested that the county attorney create a law or policy that would protect animals from unlawful euthanasia.
