Bibb County students graduate from C.H.A.M.P.S. program promoting safety and healthy choices
The 2025 C.H.A.M.P.S. graduation honored Bibb County students who learned important life skills, from internet safety and bullying prevention to leadership and healthy choices.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office hosted its 2025 C.H.A.M.P.S. Graduation this week, recognizing students who completed the youth-focused safety and life skills program.
C.H.A.M.P.S. stands for Choosing Healthy Activities and Methods Promoting Safety. In the program, children learned about alcohol and drug abuse, bullying, internet safety, leadership and many other important life lessons.
Sheriff David Davis tells 41NBC the mission of C.H.A.M.P.S. is to provide an educational program for youth that offers guidance, skills, ability, and knowledge to be safe, healthy, and happy—in preparation for a successful life.
“The C.H.A.M.P.S. program has a lot of different curriculums,” he said. “Drugs, gangs, interpersonal relationships, bullying—all of those kinds of things to help give them a well-rounded view of getting along with others and our community.”
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says it wants to teach juveniles that there are alternatives and safe paths when it comes to making good decisions.
