Bibb Co. Commissioners Name New Animal Welfare Director

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The search for the new Director of Animal Welfare in Bibb County is over.

A citizen’s committee narrowed it down to two choices. Bibb County Chairman nominated Sarah Tenon to the position. The board voted four to one in favor of the nomination.

Tenon says she’s excited to take on the job and want wait to work with the community to make a better place for our animals.

“We can’t do it without the community so I’m looking forward to working with our local community to include the rescue operations and see if we can come up with a wonderful partnership on behalf of the animals,” Tenon said.

Tenon is currently the director of Mobile County Animal Control in Mobile, Alabama.

Animal Welfare has not had a full-time director since July 1st.
