Bibb BOE Counter Dallemand’s Offer for Superintendent

Monday the Bibb County Board of Education decided to extend a counter offer to Dr. Romain Dallemand for the position of superintendent.

Dallemand rejected the first offer. Board President Gary Bechtel said their counter offer doesn’t match the value Dallemand asked for, but he’s hopeful it will be enough to get the contract finished. Bechtel says the process of negotiations has been tedious.

“There’s no argument there’s just going back and forth. Why this, why that and things like that. Because a lot of it is based on previous contracts and what is going on in other parts of the state. Trying to have reference to other contracts and what is customary,” said Bechtel.

If Dallemand accepts the offer, the board will vote on the contract Thursday.
