BCSO opens Emergency Animal Shelter for pets who can’t stay with evacuated owners
BCSO said, they'll keep the pets until Floridians have been given the green light to return home.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – While Hurricane Milton evacuees are in Georgia, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services is taking care of pets in need.
Right now, the county is caring for at least three cats and two dogs at an emergency shelter.
Shelter Manager Tracey Weathers tells 41NBC some evacuees weren’t able to find a pet friendly hotel and needed help.
She adds evacuee pets are kept separate from other animals, a precaution that can prevent the spread of illness.
Weathers says they’ll keep the pets until Floridians have been given the green light to return home.
