Employee shot, killed during robbery at Macon restaurant

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man is dead after being shot during a robbery at the Hot Wings Plus on Pio Nono Ave. Wednesday night.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Jian Wang was leaving the store with other employees around 10:15 p.m. As  they were getting in their cars, a man came from behind the restaurant and began shooting at them. Wang was hit several times.

A Bibb investigator was driving down Pio Nono and heard screaming coming from the parking lot of the restaurant. He found Wang lying on the ground with gunshot wounds.

Wang was taken to Navicent Health, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigator said the robber took a bag of money, jumped into a dark colored vehicle parked off of Rice Mill Road and fled.
