Byron bank robbery suspect arrested hours after crime

BYRON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An accused bank robber is in jail after Byron Police received a little help from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a news release, the robbery happened Friday around 2:30 p.m. 54-year-old Kenneth Wayne Williams entered the CB&T Bank on 101 South GA 49 in Byron and demanded money. He left with cash in a gold Toyota Tundra.

Byron Police received information on the suspect and his whereabouts. Williams was arrested during a traffic stop around 5:45 a.m., Saturday.

He’s charged with one count of robbery.
