Band of the Week: Northeast High School
This week’s 41NBC Band of the Week spotlight shines on the Northeast High School Marching Red Machine Band.
This year’s group is relatively young, but the band is already making strong progress as they prepare for a busy schedule. One of the highlights will be a trip to Fort Valley for its homecoming, giving the students another opportunity to showcase their talent and represent Northeast High School.
The band will kick off the season with a Michael Jackson-themed show, featuring fan favorites including “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)” and “Smooth Criminal.” The high-energy selections are sure to get audiences moving while giving the students a chance to bring their own style to the legendary artist’s music.
And the Michael Jackson theme is only the beginning. As the season continues, the band plans to perform a wide variety of music, ranging from classic ’80s selections to current-day hits.
