Baldwin Deputies Investigating Rash of Car Break-Ins

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a rash of car break-ins that happened in one neighborhood all on the same night.

Captain Brad king tells us early Tuesday morning, nine cars were broken into in the Allenwood neighborhood and one vehicle was stolen. Milledgeville police later found the car abandoned.

King says the thieves stole three handguns, some cash, and a cellphone. King says the neighborhood doesn’t experience a lot of crime.

The investigation is ongoing.

King says to protect yourself from car break-ins you should always lock your doors, even if you’re home and feel your car is safe. He says don’t leave firearms in your vehicle and if you must, lock them in your glove box or trunk. Finally, never leave expensive items lying in plain sight.
