Authorities Search for Body of Missing College Student in Bleckley and Pulaski Counties
HAWKINSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Authorities are now searching for the body of missing college student Jmaal Keyes in an area surrounding Pulaski and Bleckley Counties.
According to Investigator Todd Lowery of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the search for the body began around 9am and is also being conducted on the portions of the Ocmulgee River that runs through the two counties.
However, Lowery also stated that there is no definitive location to where the body may potentially be, whether on land or in the water, and the search is not limited to any one area in either county.
The Bleckley and Pulaski County Sheriff’s Departments are conducting the search, as well as the Middle Georgia State College Police and Cochran Police. The Department of Natural Resources is also assisting, and the Georgia State Patrol Aviation Unit is providing air support.
Thursday night, 17 year-old Robert Kane Rolison of Hawkinsville was arrested and charged with the murder of Keyes. Rolison is a freshman as MGSC, and was taken to the Bleckley County LEC.
No information has been released concerning how Keyes died, or to Rolison’s possible motivation for the crime.
