Atrium Health offers new diabetes risk assessment

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Atrium Health is encouraging people to use a new tool that can assess the risk of diabetes.
Dr. Timothy Griffin from Atrium Health says 2 out of 5 people in Macon are prediabetic or have diabetes. Griffin adds that diabetes is at an all time high across the nation.
Dr. Griffin says it is important to monitor your A1C, exercise regularly, and be mindful of what you consume. Griffin says it is best to detect diabetes at an early age and take control of your health.
The ‘Diabetes Risk Assessment‘ is a quick survey that estimates your diabetes risk and helps people find solutions to managing the diagnosis. Once the assessment has been completed, patients can contact their doctor and discuss the results.
