Arrest made in murder of Michael Antwan Chapman
MACON, Georgia (WMGT/41NBC) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office makes an arrest in the September murder of 30-year-old Michael Antwan Chapman.
Along with the Gang Unit and the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, deputies arrested 18-year-old DeQuavious Jamal Howard around 11:30 Thursday morning.
A Crime Stoppers tip helped authorities located Howard at a home in the 2100 block of Joseph Waller Drive in east Macon.
Two females at the home were arrested for harboring Howard. Crystal Reese, age 39, was charged with aiding/ hindering apprehension. Makayla Bowden, age 18, was charged with aiding/hindering apprehension, possession of schedule 2 drugs and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Michael Antwan Chapman was shot and killed on Burke Street around 7:20pm on September 15, 2018. Deputies responded to a report of a person shot. And they found Chapman lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the Navicent Health Center where he was later pronounced deceased
Howard is now in the Bibb County jail booked on charges for Armed Robbery and Murder.
No bond has been set for Howard at this time.
