Another Retail Store Is Closing At the Macon Mall

MACON,Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Another retail store is leaving the Macon Mall. Sears is expected to close in May, and now Belk will be closing its doors. According to Belk’s Corporate Office, the store will be closing in October. Belk will focus its efforts and resources on serving customers from its other location at the Shoppes at River Crossing.

Vice President of Communications for Belk, Jessica Graham says the move is in the best long-term interest of the company and shareholders.

Employees of Belk who work at the Macon Mall will be invited to apply for open positions at the River Crossing and Centerville, Georgia stores. A clearance sale is set to begin on July 22
