Another frigid night but gradual warmth is near

MACON, GEORGIA (41NBC/WMGT)- High pressure continues to build in the region from the northwest. We will
remain dry with calm, cold conditions to end the work week going into the weekend. Temperatures recovered today
with highs in the 40s to near 50. Temps are expected to dip back down into the 20s Saturday morning with highs in the
50s to near 60. Gusty northwest winds are diminishing and should be 10 mph or less across the region. Winds speeds
will also continue to diminish as the high pressure center nears the area.
The high pressure ridge will keep things dry and increase the fire danger across the area. Relative humidity across
portions of North Georgia and all of Middle Georgia have dipped below 25% creating very dry conditions.
Looking ahead at our forecast, we will remain dry through the weekend and into the beginning of next week.
The next chance for rain will be mid-week. Temperatures will remain mild.
