Another day in the 70s with the chance of showers and thunderstorms

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Good morning to you all!! This morning we have started out with temperatures low to mid 60s. Some spots are a few degrees cooler than yesterday morning, that is due to a cool front just to the west of our area. The cool front will not really affect our forecast. Later on this afternoon temperatures will warm up yet again into the mid 70s. This afternoon and evening we do have a 50 percent chance to see a few showers and thunderstorms. This chance will continue into the overnight hours into your Saturday morning. Temperatures will start in the upper 50s to low 60s tomorrow morning. The chance exist for a few strong to severe storms on Saturday afternoon as a marginal risk (level 1/5) is in place for our western counties. Temperatures will warm up into the mid 70s for your Saturday. On Sunday temperatures will decrease well into the 60s still not so bad for late January . Rainfall over the next 7 days is anywhere from .1 to 1 inch across the area with locally higher and lower amounts possible. Temperatures will cool to average as we head into next week.  Warmer weather is expected to start the first full week of February
