Middle Georgia State's Women's Basketball Head Coach Anderson Ligon is stepping down in his role as the Lady Knights Coach after 19 seasons

COCHRAN, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – On Wednesday, Middle Georgia State University’s Director of Athletics Micheal Brown announced that Women’s Basketball Head Coach Anderson Ligon is stepping down as the Lady Knights Coach after 19 seasons.
Coach Ligon compiled over 100 victories at both the NJCAA and NAIA levels in his 19 years on the bench with MGA, highlighted by a trip to the 2009 NJCAA National Tournament. Ligon will continue in his role as an Associate Professor in the MGA School of Business while turning his focus to full-time teaching beginning in the 2025-26 academic year.
Middle Georgia State has announced they will be holding a nationwide search for the next head coach and details will be coming soon.
