Amy Morton enters race for Bibb County Board of Education District 7

Morton says parent engagement and collaboration are key priorities.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Elected officials, business leaders and community members gathered Wednesday at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame as Amy Morton officially announced her campaign for the Bibb County Board of Education, District 7.

Morton is a longtime Macon resident, family therapist and small business owner. She says she launched her campaign because she believes Bibb County’s public schools deserve the same focus, collaboration and determination that have driven recent progress across Macon-Bibb. She says parent engagement is the biggest challenge she sees.

“If you believe that every child deserves a strong start, not just a lucky few, I invite you to join the team. If you believe teachers should be trusted, listened to, and supported, I invite you to join the team,” said Morton.

Election Day is set for May 19.
