American Airlines offering free entertainment
Travelers on wifi-enabled planes from American Airlines can chose to watch free entertainment, including premium channels, on their seatback screens or stream it on their own personal device through the airline’s app.
The free entertainment will be offered on all domestic flights.
The move went into effect at the start of August, and the airline said the entertainment offerings will vary by type of aircraft.
Some local governments say Verizon and AT&T aren’t paying their required 911 fees.
The Wall Street Journal says that a number of local governments say the telecom companies are offering deep discounts on 911 fees to corporate customers in an effort to keep their business, but these discounts have created a shortfall of nearly $600 million for 911 call centers nationwide.
Reps for AT&T and Verizon tell the WSJ they both comply with local laws related to 911 fees.
The Nasdaq closed at another all time high.
It was the second record close of 2016.
The Dow and S and P 500 eeked out small gains.
Chipotle is taking another approach to bringing customers in the door: giving out free booze — at least in the midwest.
The company recently began offering the boozy deals everyday from 4 p.m. To 8 p.m. at 300 locations in Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
The promotion runs through September, according to Consumerist.
Big-box pet store PetSmart is putting in a new music system meant to soothe pets.
The company says in the store, to encourage “pet parents” to shop, the music will feature an “upbeat playlist for shoppers, employees, and or pets. “
Over in the boarding area, the playlist will be curated for canine and feline chillaxing, or “modern mellow tunes to create a calm atmosphere to help pets relax and enjoy their stay.”
