Amazon semi-truck crash under investigation on I-75 in Monroe County

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash involving an Amazon semi-truck on Interstate 75..

FORSYTH, Georiga (41NBC/WMGT)- The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash involving an Amazon semi-truck on Interstate 75.

According to the sheriff’s office, the wreck happened Wednesday morning near Exit 179 on the northbound side of I-75.

Preliminary reports indicate the driver fell asleep behind the wheel and ran off the roadway.  A photo provided by the sheriff’s office shows the tractor-trailer off the side of the interstate following the crash.

Officials say no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The crash remains under investigation.
