Allen Peake Endorses Democrats
A local Republican is endorsing some democratic candidates.
State representative Allen Peake announced who he plans to support and the Republican candidate who he claims would be a wasted vote.
Bobby Gale is running for Senate Seat District 26, but Peake says he has no chance of winning.
“The senate race in particular the demographics of the race just make it very difficult for a Republican to win. It’s just the realities of the demographics that are in that particular senate district.”
Gale says, “He’s entitled to an opinion and on July the 19th the people will go to the polls and they will vote and at the closing of the day the tallying will be done.”
Peake says it’s not a personal attack, it’s just reality.
“I fully understand that people could care less about who my endorsements are or who I say they ought to vote for but I felt like all three of these races are so important for the future of Macon and middle Georgia that I had to get engaged, I couldn’t sit on the sidelines in these particular elections.”
Allen Peake endorses Robert Reichert for Mayor, Miriam Paris for State Senate, and James Beverly for State House.
Early voting goes until the 15th. Election day is Tuesday, July 19th.
