Air Force Reserve Band Rehearses for Final Performance

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The last members of the Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve are getting ready for their final performance before the group is dismantled later this year.

The five member rock group called Reserve Generation is rehearsing for their encore performance during this year’s Independence Day Celebration in Warner Robins. The band is one of three that’s been cut due to budget issues.

Performers say it is a bittersweet moment. Tech. Sgt. Frances Knees says they are sad at this point of their career is coming to an end, but they are glad they get to share the stage one last time at their home base.

“It’s very rare that we perform in Warner Robins because we’re traveling so much so that part is exciting, but yet its sad to know that it is our last concert and literally the next day we start going our separate ways across the country,” she said.

The group will officially disband in September. The 31st Annual Independence Day Celebration is on July 3rdat McConnell-Talbert Stadium. Gates will open at 6 pm and the concert will begin at 8 pm. The event is free.
