UPDATE: Accused Macon murderer back in jail after fight
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The man accused of shooting and killing 34-year-old Tyrell Jordan Tuesday is back in jail.
Frederick Johnson, 29, had his first court appearance Thursday.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s website doesn’t show a bond amount for him.
Johnson was taken to the hospital after a fight in the jail’s common area Wednesday morning.
The man accused of murdering 34-year-old Tyrell Jordan in Macon Tuesday missed his scheduled court appearance Wednesday because he was in the hospital.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office’s public information officer said 29-year-old Frederick Johnson was involved in a fight Wednesday morning in the jail’s common area.
Deputies are working to figure out what other inmates were involved and what the fight was about.
Johnson doesn’t have any serious injuries and no one else was hurt, according to the sheriff’s office.
Johnson is charged with murder, criminal trespass and simple battery family violence.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is going to check Thursday morning to see if Johnson’s court appearance has been rescheduled.
