Accused Bibb County gang member makes plea bargain with district attorney’s office

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An accused Bibb County gang member is making a plea bargain with the district attorney’s office.

According to the Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney David Cooke, Kodie Thomas Frank DiDiego’s trial was supposed to begin Monday, but he made a plea bargain.

Cooke tells 41NBC DiDiego agreed to truthfully testify against his co-defendants in exchange for serving a 15 year sentence. A judge sentenced DiDiego to eight years in prison and seven years probation under gang conditions. If he truthfully testifies against the co-defendants, the sentences will be changed to seven years in prison and 8 years probation under gang conditions.

DiDiego was arrested in June of last year. He was charged with engaging in a pattern of racketeering activity for using credit card information to funnel money to inmates in the Bibb County jail. He’s also charged with gang activity.

“Anyone who furthers the interest of a street gang is going to face a severe penalty. This guy is no exception,” said Cooke.
