Academy Sports and Outdoors donates bikes to Ingram Pye students

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Academy Sports and Outdoors of Macon awarded 15 boys and 15 girls at Ingram Pye Elementary School with brand new bikes and helmets.

The events is a part of the store’s holiday donation program. Its spread across 15 states and benefits over 4,000 kids.

Students are chose for perfect attendance, academic performance, and good behavior.

Store Director Laura Lamoree says the school as a whole benefits from the program, because students who don’t make the chosen 30 are encouraged to make the list the next year. The event resulted in a rise in attendance at last year’s chosen school.

Academy Sports and Outdoors will donate over $250,000 in youth bikes and helmets this year.
