Disney’s ABC has announced that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be pre-empted indefinitely following controversial remarks made by host Jimmy Kimmel.

(NBC)-Disney’s ABC has announced that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be pre-empted indefinitely following controversial remarks made by host Jimmy Kimmel regarding the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
During his Monday night monologue, Kimmel referenced the alleged shooter, Tyler Robinson, suggesting he might have been a pro-Trump Republican. Kimmel went on to say, “The MAGA gang [is] desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”
The comments drew swift backlash. Nexstar Media Group, Inc., one of the nation’s largest station operators, quickly announced that its ABC affiliates would pre-empt the late-night program “for the foreseeable future.”
The controversy also caught the attention of the president, who posted on his Truth Social platform Wednesday night, writing in part: “Great news for America: the ratings-challenged Jimmy Kimmel show is canceled. Congratulations on ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done.”
