MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An upper low has progressed quickly through the area overnight, bringing showers to Middle Georgia. The bulk of the  widespread shower activity moved Screenshot 2025 11 03 035257Screenshot 2025 11 03 035050Screenshot 2025 11 03 035119Screenshot 2025 11 03 035136Screenshot 2025 11 03 035205Screenshot 2025 11 03 035222across Northern Georgia and has quickly diminished from west to east by the predawn hours Monday. Rainfall totals were mainly a quarter inch or less. Skies will clear fairly quickly Monday morning as high pressure builds eastward into the area with mostly sunny skies through the day. With widespread clouds persisting through sunrise, low temperatures should mainly hold into the 40s, keeping frost concerns at bay. Despite the sun, high temperatures today will largely run a few degrees below normal, mainly in the 60s. The system that brought rain to parts of the region last night and early Monday morning, have completely exited the area. In its wake will be a surface high that slides right over the region for a day or two then an upper level wave washes over the area. Temperatures will warm as the air mass modifies. Expect highs in the 70s through the end of the week, warmer in Central Georgia than North Georgia, with a few 80s creeping into south Central Georgia by the end of the week.  Looking ahead again, a quick clipper-type system moves across the northeast U.S. on Wednesday but will remain too far north to have any impacts to Middle Georgia. Moisture returns looks limited and the front attached to the system is expected to mostly stall and wash out before reaching the area.
