A long dry pattern starts today and continues this weekend
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The rainfall was honestly beneficial yesterday, and good thing it was: we have a long dry pattern ahead of us.
Almost an inch of rain fell yesterday at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport. This morning, we’ve woken to patchy fog and overcast skies. As the morning continues, the clouds will either move out of the area or dissipate, leaving us with abundant sunshine this afternoon.
High pressure moves into the southeast this weekend. Sunny skies and seasonable highs continue both days, though the overnight lows will be chillier than average in the upper 30s.
Early next week, winds shift to the south, which will increase cloud cover in the area and warm things up. By Wednesday or Thursday, highs will rise to the 80s. Despite the increased moisture and temperatures, no rain is expected through Thursday.
