A Forsyth man is shot by a Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -A man is in the hospital after being shot by a Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy in Forsyth.

Deputies responded to a domestic violence situation at 4168 Johnstonville road near Boxankle road.

A Georgia Bureau of Investigation special agent says 40 year Richard Tredwell was shot when he approached deputies with a weapon is his hand.

Authorities say despite being shot, Treadwell was not seriously injured.
