A bit breezy today

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Good morning to you all! Winds around Middle Georgia will be quite strong from the east, ranging from 10-17 mph and gusting over 25 mph throughout the afternoon. This is due to Potential Tropical Cyclone One off the eastern coast of Mexico and a powerful high-pressure area off the U.S. East Coast. These winds are expected whether or not PTC One becomes named as Alberto. Thursday will remain breezy and mild with highs in the lower 90s, but temperatures will start to climb on Friday as the wind slows with PTC One moving over Mexico by then. Pop-up storms will become more widespread starting Friday and continue into the weekend, providing some relief as highs return to the upper 90s.
