Locals anticipate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle royal wedding

CENTERVILLE, Georgia (41NBC, WMGT) – It’s almost time for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to tie the knot. The royal wedding takes place tomorrow morning at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

No invitation? No problem, because 41NBC has a way you can get a taste of the wedding.

“I just like the whole fairy tale aspect of Prince and Meghan, kind of like a commoner. The fact that they’re going to make it work with different backgrounds. It reminds me of Cinderella,” Gina Carlton said.

Three generations. Two time tradition. One wedding.

“This is a historic event and I’m also interested seeing the dress. I just like I’ve watched the other weddings and I’m curious for one thing to see how everything plays out,” Gwen Tribble said.

Without having to book a flight, this family will witness a happily ever after from their couch. They say they watched Prince William and Kate get married. Now, they’re looking forward to tomorrow.

British Pantry and Tea Room Manager Jeanette Francis says it will be a busy day, but isn’t missing one minute.

“I’m getting up at 4:30 tomorrow morning. I’m not missing the wedding. Then by the time they get married, I’ll come here and start working,” Francis said.

These women aren’t the only ones celebrating the nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

“The Tea Room is completely booked for tomorrow,” Francis said.

Customers get to enjoy a piece of the royal wedding.

“We’re going to try to make sort of a replica of the wedding cake with the elder flower cordial in it,” she said.

With like much of the wedding, Prince Harry and Markle are going against the British grain.

“True traditional wedding cake in England is a fruit cake and they’re not going with a fruit cake. They’re going with like a sponge cake,” Francis said.

The cake is going to be finished by tonight.

You can catch the events leading up to the royal wedding and the ceremony here, on 41NBC. Coverage starts at 4 a.m.
