Warner Robins man gets prison time for attempting sex with a teenager

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Warner Robins man who pleaded guilty to trying to have sex with a person he thought was 14-years-old will spend five years in prison.

61-year-old Timothy Strickland was sentenced to 15 years after authorities say he sent sexually explicit emails, attempting to solicit sex from the teenager.

Back in 2015, authorities say Strickland responded to an advertisement on Craigslist posted by undercover police. Strickland sent emails trying to arrange a threesome with the teenager and her father. Authorities arrested Strickland at a local motel once he arrived hoping to meet the two.

Strickland will be required to follow rules for sex offenders once he is released from prison.
