‘Finest dining’ at the 2017 Georgia National Fair

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Funnel cakes, turkey legs, and cotton candy, all classic fair food, but what if you want to break tradition? You can do that at the 2017 Georgia National Fair with more than 100 different food stands to choose from.

“This like a good steak dinner at the fair,” said Jamie, manager at Sirloin Tips. “We fresh cut our onions and bell-peppers every day, our potatoes are made from scratch. We never freeze our freeze our meat.”

Sirloin Tips is located right next to the largest traveling ferris wheel in North America, the Mega Mile.

You can get a steak dinner loaded with sirloin tips, mashed potatoes, green peppers and onions or $10, and mushrooms for $2.

“We come here every year, we tried it 3 years ago and it’s the best food we’ve ever had. So we don’t go anywhere else when we’re at the the fair,” said Nancy Raper, a visitor at the fair.

“I always tell people when they have a girlfriend,” said Jamie. “‘Where else can you take your best girl at the fair?”

You are probably going to need a drink, so why not something fresh? Like Drink a Fruit From a Fruit. It’s a new stand located near the clock tower, where you literally drink a fruit from a fruit. You get to choose from watermelon or pineapple blended with ice. It’s perfect for a hot day at the fair.

After exploring and more fun, you might get hungry again, so check out Wok n Roll. It’s another new addition to the food stands.

“This is Cantonese cooking and it’s very rare that you find Cantonese cooking pretty much anywhere,” said Wok-n-Roll owner, Zena Le.

“A lot of these chicken fried rice rice places can be real soggy and everything, but this is the best that I’ve ever had,” said fair vendor, Erick So I’ll probably be here every day.”

Steak, fruit and Cantonese, fair food, will not disappoint this year.

You can get all of the food, from 10 AM – 10PM every day from October 15th.
