Bo’s Camp helps people grieve their loved ones
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Tears fell down parents and children’s faces at Bo’s camp on Saturday.
It’s an annual camp, hosted by the Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital, that helps people who are struggling with the loss of a loved one.
Rebecca Edwards lost her husband a year ago. She said the camp made her feel comfortable.
“When I cam here, I met others who had lost someone and just to sit with them and understand that they’re also grieving in the same place that I’m in and feeling the same way, they’re was what is it comfort, strength in numbers, I guess,” Edwards said.
Vanessa Regans lost her daughter two years ago. She said it’s because of Bo’s Camp and God that’s she’s been able to be strong.
“The people, the volunteers, they’re very compassionate and they you know make it a safe place. It’s okay to be yourself. It’s okay to cry,” Regans said.
The Director of Pediatric Critical Care at the hospital said the camp gives people hope and healing.
