Record breaking freshmen class moves in at Mercer
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A record breaking freshmen class of 900 students stepped foot on Mercer University’s campus Saturday morning.
The freshmen moved into Legacy Hall, MEP, and Plunkett for the annual move in day.
It’s a day that involves Mercer Movers, which are made up of students, faculty, and staff, helping freshmen move their stuff into their new rooms.
Kelly Holloway, Director of Undergraduate Admissions, said Mercer Movers are all about making the new bears feel at home.
“Today is about a new beginning. Today is about making these new students apart of the Mercer family. The energy is high. You can see that we have Mercer Movers everywhere on campus ready to help them move in,” Holloway said.
She said this year’s freshmen class has the highest GPA and test scores combined when compared to previous incoming freshmen classes.
