Death Penalty possible for escaped inmates
EATONTON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – State prosecutors said they will seek the death penalty for escaped inmates Donnie Rowe and Ricky Dubose.
Rowe and Dubose appeared in court Wednesday morning for their first appearance hearing in Putnam County.
Sheriff Howard Sills, from Putnam County, sat beside Dubose during the hearing.
A state representative told Judge Brenda Trammell during the hearing that he will be seeking the death penalty against the inmates.
Both men are accused of shooting and killing two Georgia corrections officers last week.
Officer Christopher Monica and Curits Billue both left behind families.
Billue was laid to rest Saturday and Monica was laid to rest Monday
Rowe and Dubose are being charged with two counts of murder, hijacking, and felony escape.
Trammell denied bond for both Dubose and Rowe.
