UPDATE: Central Georgia Technical College Macon campus placed on temporary lockdown after shots fired

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Central Georgia Technical College in Macon was placed on temporary lockdown late Monday morning after shots fired were reported.

Lt. Randy Gonzalez, with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, says they received a call from campus police around 11:26 a.m. and immediately responded to the incident near the “I” building.

According to Lt. Gonzalez, it is believed a type of altercation occurred in the cafeteria area before escalating outside with potentially up to three total shots being fired.

It was also reported that three black males possibly wearing blue jeans, white T-shirts, and red sweat bands were seen getting into a black Ford Crown Victoria and leaving the scene.

Another three individuals were seen getting into a blue or black Nissan Altima and also quickly leaving the scene, according to witnesses.

No injuries were reported, and the lockdown was eventually lifted.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
