Bankruptcy judge: State and Bibb Board of Education can close Macon Charter Academy

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia Department of Education and the Bibb County School Board can move forward with Macon Charter Academy’s termination process.

Stephanie Hartley with the Bibb County School District said a judge ruled the bankruptcy proceeding was not an automatic stay on the charter revocation process.

The next step is for Superintendent Dr. Curtis Jones to meet with the state DOE to determine how they will move forward with the termination process.
