Monroe deputies seize drugs, nearly $8k in traffic stop
FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two people were arrested after a Monroe County deputy and his K-9 busted them for having meth and nearly $8,000 in cash.
According to a Facebook post, the driver and passenger seemed nervous about being stopped. After being run through the system, turns out the driver had an active warrant and a suspended license.
The K-9 sniffed around the outside of the vehicle and was alerted to “illegal narcotics” near the passenger door.
A search found 6.2 ounces of methamphetamine and $7,900 in cash. Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody and charged with trafficking meth and other traffic charges.
