Frank Austin appeal hearing set for next Thursday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Frank Austin will have a hearing next week to see if he can reverse a judge’s decision that says he’s not able to run for the State House District 142 seat.

Austin emailed 41NBC a hearing notification. His appeal will be heard next Thursday, May 19 at 9 a.m. in the Superior Court of Fulton County.

A state judge ruled Austin wasn’t eligible for the position because he hasn’t lived in the district for at least a year, as required by state law.

Austin argues he can run because he owns two homes. He claims he moved into the District 142 house in 2014.
