Abundant sunshine this afternoon, cool 60s for highs this weekend
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Heavy rain and storms quickly pushed through the area early this morning, getting out of the way for daytime. Highs will be seasonable and a bit warmer today around 75 compared to 69 on Wednesday. Both highs are pleasant, so it’s okay either way!
An upper-level trough will provide us with breezy conditions today and tomorrow. Winds will be at 10 – 15 mph from the west today with higher wind gusts. Tomorrow, winds will blow around 15 – 20 mph with higher wind gusts.
This weekend, the trough deepens into Middle Georgia, bringing much cooler than average highs in the 60s for the Perry Dogwood Festival.
The air will remain dry, so with low humidity, low temperatures and sunshine, it’ll be a perfect weekend for anything outdoors.
Expect temperatures to warm by Monday. The next chance for rain and storms is Tuesday of next week.
