Six arrested in Bibb County identity theft investigation
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Investigators with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office made 6 arrests in an identity theft investigation.
According to a news release, Michael Sean Jones, Aaron Michael Jones-Massey, Lewis Earl Corder, Jennifer Ann Grata, James Thomas Watkins, and Melissa Spires are accused of breaking into homes and stealing from mail boxes to gain peoples’ identities.
Deputies are still collecting stolen items. Investigators say some were sold and others were pawned. Credit cards in other peoples’ names were collected along with items purchased with the cards.
The investigation started in January.
Arrest and Charges
Michael Sean Jones – 45 YOA – Charged with Burglary, Forgery and Violation of Probation. He has a bond amount of $15,100.00. Arrested March 16, 2016.
Aaron Michael Jones–Massey – 21YOA – Charged with Burglary, Aggravated Battery, Forgery, False Imprisonment, Stalking, Harassing Phone Calls and Violation of Probation. He has a bond amount of $12,700.00. Arrested March 16, 2016.
Lewis Earl Corder – 33YOA – Charged with Identity Fraud, Financial Transaction Card Fraud and Terroristic Threats. He has a bond amount of $87,685.00. Arrested January 21, 2016.
Jennifer Ann Grata – 43YOA – Charged with Burglary, Forgery, Theft By Taking, Identity Fraud and Financial Transaction Card Fraud. She has a bond amount of $94,340.00. Arrested February 2, 2016.
James Thomas Watkins – 38YOA – Charged with Financial Transaction Card Fraud and Parole Violation. He has a bond amount of $2,400.00. Arrested February 8, 2016.
Melissa Danyell Spires – 31YOA – Charged with Theft By Conversion. She also has a hold for Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. She has a bond amount of $3,500.00. Arrested February 4, 2016.
