6-Year-Old Shot During Party
Georgia police search for man who approached 6-year-old boy riding bicycle, then shot him in chest. WXIA’s LaTasha Givens reports.
A 6-year-old Lawrenceville, Georgia boy is recovering from injuries after he was shot in the chest during a neighborhood party.
Ni-Shawn Moore, 6, was riding his bike when “someone approached him and shot him in the upper chest,” in front of a house on Saturday.
Police say a stranger reportedly came from the backyard of a nearby home, and shot the boy with what they originally thought was a BB gun.
Paramedics treated Ni-Shawn for his injuries and released him back to his mom. Later, Harrington took her son to Gwinnett Medical Center where doctors determined the wound was not from a BB gun but from a .22 caliber weapon. His injury was much more serious than paramedics initially thought and he was transported to Eggleston Children’s Hospital in a helicopter in critical condition.
